Dating Violence 

Going out on a date should be fun. For many young teens however, it can be a night of abuse and pain. You do not have to be a victim of Dating Violence. This article will tell you what YOU can do to  avoid being a victim.


The Bully 

The consequences of being bullied  continue throughout a student's school years and beyond.  Research shows that boy bullies will display life-long aggression problems if no one intervenes.  Studies have found that boy bullies have a one-in-four chance of having a criminal record by the time they are 30 years old. Mothers who were aggressive as girls are more likely to punish their  children harshly. The article addresses the problem of bullying that is equally informative for both students and parents.

Hate Crime 

This short article outlines the Illinois statute on Hate Crime.  Many states have adopted similar laws to prevent crimes based on prejudice  and bias.



With the recent gun violence reported in the media involving children and young people, it is time for all gun owners to review firearm safety in their homes. The adage, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", has never been more true than with firearm safety!
