John M. Carpino


John is a 40-year veteran of law enforcement.  He has taken on the position of Chief of Police for a police department in the Chicago suburbs.  John retired as a Deputy Chief of Police for another agency in the Chicago suburbs.

John has held many positions throughout his law enforcement career.  He served as a Police Cadet, Police Officer, Corporal, Detective, Detective Sergeant, Detective Lieutenant, Executive Aide to the Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, and Chief of Police, and currently serves as a Public Safety / Security Consultant.

During his fo (40) years on-the-job, he has received numerous awards and commendations for service above and beyond the call of duty.  One such award which he received in 2003 is for outstanding assistance and support on behalf of the investigative and protective responsibilities of the United States Secret Service.

Sgt. Randy Sutton of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department acknowledged John for his efforts in making True Blue a reality, Randy is the author of TRUE BLUE released by St. Martinís Press in February of 2004.


John holds an A.A. in Police Science Administration and a B.A./M.S. in Criminal/Social Justice from Lewis University.  John is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command Class #115.  In addition John has over of 2,500 hours of training in all aspects of law enforcement.

John founded SafetyCops with a sincere desire to help people avoid being victimized by crime.  Real Cops-Real Crime-Real Advice is what SafetyCops is all about.
