Real Cops        Real Crime        Real Advice

Don't leave books or bags lying around. Write your name and Social Security number in all of your books. Don't take valuables into the gym, and do not count on lockers protecting your valuables.

Lock your vehicle. Do not leave stereo equipment, laptop computers, compact discs or book bags in vehicles - even if they are locked. These type of items are prime targets for theft.

Never walk alone at night. Many colleges and universities offer escort services, which provides you with the assurance of safe travel on campus. Find out if your school offers this service. If it does, use it!

Have your key ready to open your car doors, especially at night. Your keys can be a defensive weapon.

Always make sure that the office or classroom door is locked if you should be working or studying late. Remember, never prop any door open for someone else.

Report any suspicious person or activity to campus security!
